Non-Negotiables

Scrolling through my Facebook feeds these last few days I keep coming across Louise Androlia’s 10 Non-Negotiables. She asked on FB what our non-negotiables are and I realised I didn’t really have any… Yikes! So I made some and I hope these inspire you to make your own! 🙂

❤ Wear whatever I want to wear.

I don’t buy into fashion and fads unless I love it – hello neon yellow. Clothing and style is self-expression and although we have to dress ‘appropriately’ at times, we can still do that in the confines of dressing creatively. You can wear hot pink to the office, and sequin plimsolls are always cool even though they kind of blind people in the street. Oh yeah, but this also comes with not judging others for what they wear too!

❤ Be alone

As some kind of introvert I need alone time. I’m not talking about like hours spent in a cave, but more like taking a long shower, or enjoying the alone-ness on the drive to work. Even shopping alone counts as alone time right?

❤ Spend money on that which I value

I’m working on this! It’s super important to me and I’m doing OK. I’m trying really hard to make sure I question my purchases and weigh up the value before hitting buy, but I still have lapses… I probably have lapses on everything on this list, but that’s OK because I’m human…

❤ Remember – It’s OK because you are human…

This one is about not beating myself up for doing ‘human things’ like spending too much at Topshop or rolling my eyes at fellow motorists.

❤ …But always try to be better

Learn from my mistakes and every day try to be a better person than I was yesterday, like consciously try not to roll my eyes at motorists or spend too much at Topshop.

❤ Be kind

Always be kind, especially to the people who make your coffee. And be kind to animals, even if you don’t like spiders try not to kill them.

❤ Live with a grateful heart

I try to make gratitude lists but I’m not that good at keeping the routine. So instead I try to live with a grateful heart in every moment in every day. OK so sometimes that’s hard, especially when someone is on your back or pissing you off… but there is always something to be grateful for, even if it’s just tea, or trees or being alive. When drinking a cup of tea I often mentally think – ‘I love tea!’ and doing that all day about everything is a pretty nice way to go about your day.

❤ Feel joy!

As a 3 life path my life purpose is to be in joy and spread joy so having fun, being silly and enjoying life is totally non-negotiable!

❤ Not apologising for who I am

I’m not sorry I’m a nerd, geek, weirdo, dress like a teenager, tarot reader, angel communicator, wannabe YA fiction author, 80’s enthusiast, karaoke queen, pole dancer, not a natural redhead, tree hugger, Unicorn lover, Jesus crusher (I mean I have a Jesus crush right, not that I actually would crush him), star person, possible Atlantean, incarnated angel and part elemental, not really cool enough to be an actual hipster even though I call this page new age hipster, and I like Taylor Swift. #sorrynotsorry!

❤ Connecting with the ‘divine’

Every day I do something to connect with God/Universe/Whatever you want to call it. Whether it’s Tarot, pulling an Angel card, having a chat with whoever’s around me from the light while I’m getting ready for my day, oh – and always asking for protection and getting in my golden bubble!

OK, now it’s your turn! What things are non-negotiable for you?!

Love, light and non-negotiable lists!

The Week Ahead – Old robes vs Kardashian wardrobes

photo 1 (7)

Another weekly reading brought to you by the suit of coins. Sorry! Last week we had the lovely tea and chat with the angels, but guess what? It’s back to being kicked in the butt – no cookies on the table today!

So the question this week is – are we spending money in alignment with our higher selves? I bought some clothes on ASOS the other day, maybe I didn’t really need them. Maybe I should be living a holy life in scratchy robes and old sandals. Argh! But we can’t live in robes and sandals on this planet right now, not unless we go off the grid at least. In my life right now I live in a city and I work in a public place and there’s a dress code. I’m not even allowed to wear sandals.

So where do we draw the line between dressing like a monk and spending like a Kardashian? How do we know how much is OK and how much is too much? Obviously our bank accounts can give us some advice about that, but using how much is in your bank account to gauge how much you can spend leads you to doing what I did last month – nearly hitting zero!

So the real question here is how do we get into alignment with ‘good’ spending?! Right, let’s pull another card…

photo 2 (8)

Looks like we need to put our purchases on the metaphorical scale of spending Justice!

Imagine on one side of the scale sits your glowing gorgeous higher self (a mini version, obviously your higher self is bigger than can fit on a scale!) and on the other put your purchases. Do they balance out? Is your ASOS shopping spree too heavy?! Is your once a month 50p charity shop buy a little too light?!

We can also think of our higher self as a ‘person’ and ask them what they think of our purchases too – hold up that shirt to your higher self in the changing room and see if she/he nods or shakes her/his head. Before clicking on ‘purchase’ look over at your higher self standing over by the pot plant, are they giving you that look? Or are they nodding with approval – after all your higher self wants you to feel good right?! It’s OK to buy stuff that will make you feel good, but spending money on crap you don’t even like doesn’t make you feel good!

Put your purchases on the scale and see how they line up this week! I’d love to know if this resonates and works for you guys and I’ll be reporting back on my progress at this at the end of the week! 🙂

In other weekly news – I still have loads of free 3 card readings to give away so hook it up if you haven’t already! I’ve finally put up a page of Praise featuring some of the amazing and wonderful feedback I’ve had so far and I’ve started putting up some links to some of the amazing people out in the world who have helped me so much on my journey so far, check them out! One of whom is the lovely Louise Androlia who I met yesterday at her wonderful double energy + surrender workshop which I’ll be blogging about in the next few days. 🙂

Love, light and weighing in the spending!

#Caturday cat cards – Two of Pentacles

photo (41)

This #Caturday we come across this guy who’s doing a bit of a juggling act. This kitty is holding onto two coins and seems kind of unaware of the sea and ships behind him. He’s got lots on his mind trying to keep those two coins from falling, you can’t totally blame him for not seeing what else is going on around him.

We might be doing our own little juggling act this weekend. I’m sick with a cold which totally sucks and I kind of feel like this kitty right now – I’m trying to rest and get better but there’s so many other things I’m thinking about!

This kitty is a message for us today to focus on one thing at a time, whether it’s resting when you are sick, putting away your phone when you’re on a date or out with friends, or even – and this is something I always do – checking the IMDB app on your phone while watching a movie. I mean do you really have to know what that guy is from?! Can’t you just enjoy the movie and look it up later? At the very least, pause the movie while you do it!

If you’re super busy this weekend and don’t even have time for a movie then you can also make a to do list. It sounds seriously lame, but I swear by them (when I actually do them!). It’s a good quick way to work out which jobs are important, what can wait, and when you tick everything off you have the rest of the day to yourself instead of procrastinating about everything and still having to do it all tomorrow.

On another note, I haven’t been able to do any free readings in the last few days and I know there’s a couple waiting in my inbox. Hopefully my head will be clearer tomorrow or at least by Monday so you should get your reading then if you are waiting, I apologise for the delay! If you would like a free reading please go to 100 Free Readings and sign up. Simple as that! I’ve been really thrilled at the response so far and so thankful for the wonderful feedback. 🙂

Love, light and putting your phone down!

The week ahead – We are the world

photo (37)

I don’t know about you, but I’ve been feeling a deep sadness about the world this last week. The plane crash in the Ukraine, the events taking place in Israel, children dying of cancer… the world is a dark place at times and it’s feeling very heavy right now.

I had a little trouble pulling a card this week. I pulled The World card for us this week from my new Housewives Tarot deck, then put it back, pulled a couple that didn’t feel right and then pulled The World again. Perhaps at first glance I didn’t want to have to write about something so full on so I tried to avoid it. But that’s the thing about tarot, and life too, you can’t just avoid the things you don’t want to deal with.

This week I feel we are being guided to think about ‘The World’. The imagery here shows a very closed minded view of the world, a bubble, the parts of the world that affect us directly in our everyday lives. What are we having for dinner? What’s the earliest we can leave work so we don’t get stuck in traffic? How many days until the weekend? We often get so caught up in ourselves and our world bubble around us that we don’t always think about the fact that our home isn’t just our flat, or our house with the white picket fence. The whole planet is our home.

OK I’m getting way too emo, but I really think this week is a good time to meditate (whatever that means to you!) on the world, and that we are, quite literally it. We can sit around and moan about the state of things, but we are the state of things. We are the world.

I don’t want anyone to fall into a pit of despair, after all there is so much beauty here on Earth and so many amazing people who want to share love, joy and happiness and so much to live for, but sometimes I think we need to step out of our bubble and put it all into perspective. But instead of getting frustrated or just ignoring the problems on the planet we need to really think about what we can do to help make the world a better place.

In our everyday lives we need to interact positively, we need to be the light and spread the love and joy to others. But when looking at the big picture it might be a good week to donate whatever you can afford to a charity, watch a documentary and educate ourselves, send some positive vibes to the parts of the world that need it most, or even just have a good cry and release some of this pent up frustration that so many of us have been feeling lately.

I like to think that my blog is a really happy positive lighthearted kind of place, so I’m sorry to go on a downer today.

But that’s the world.

Love, light and healing tears,

x

#Caturday cat cards – Seven of Cups

photo (36)

Happy #Caturday everyone! Wow, another loooonnnnng week but it’s finally the weekend again! It’s the kitty Seven of Cups today, and this often gets called the ‘choices’ card. Well yeah, there’s a kitty all looking at his cups (a.k.a choices) trying to decide which one he wants. I never fully understood why he could only just take one anyway!? You’ve got two paws kitty, reach out and grab TWO!

So today we should have a look at our options, be open to opportunities and then, after working out what we really want, grab a couple by the stems!

I’m finally off to see The Fault in Our Stars today at the cinema. I loved the book and will definitely be taking some tissues with me! A huge John Green fan I am! What are you going to do today?!

Oh and don’t forget I’m still offering free readings! Maybe that’s what’s in the cup up the top there! 😉

Love, light and kitty cups,

Vix
