The Week Ahead – Just Walk Away!

photo (54)

Hey hipsters! Welcome to another week ahead reading! It’s been a HUGE week for me – I’ve been training to get my Angel Card Reader Certification with Doreen Virtue! WOWZERS! If you fancy an angel card reading from me you can check out my Etsy store, or keep your eye on my Facebook page. The other day I was on FB and bored and had my cards out so I randomly started giving out free messages – it could happen again!

When I met Doreen Virtue at the book signing she told me I had ‘so many fairies’ around me. Now that was kind of surprising because although I’ve been trying for ages to make deals with the fairies – I recycle more and eat less meat, you gift me some cash – I haven’t exactly been that successful at it. But nevertheless, after she told me that I did have fairies I went marching straight up to the store and grabbed the last deck of ‘Magical Messages from the Fairies‘. And so this week our message comes courtesy of the fairies!

Walk away‘. It’s pretty self explanatory really, but you might want to take a little time to work out exactly what you need to walk away from in your life right now. I really don’t think this card is telling us all to quit our day jobs and run off to live in a fairy kingdom. It’s about being able to walk away from that which no longer serves us. I really think this week it’s not just about doing a detox – friends that bring us down, a job that seriously sucks, a bad habit (spending way too much money on oracle decks?!), a shitty relationship or whatever it is. This week we are being called to work out the difference between going through stuff that will help us grow and walking away from that which is stunting us.

Sometimes we put so much emphasis into ‘fixing’ things that aren’t really right for us; a relationship, a house, a job. We try to force things into being what we want them to be and often feel like ‘walking away’ is a cop out. The easy way out. The fairies are telling us this week sometimes it’s OK to end a relationship that isn’t working, making plans to leave an OK but fulfilling job we’ve been in for years, or selling or moving a house that isn’t a good fit. Sometimes staying in a situation is the cop out, right? This can also refer to your own emotional crap too. I know for me the emotional crap I need to let go of is my total lack of self-confidence. No matter how many people tell me my tarot and angel readings are spot on and amazing I still have that feeling of ‘who am I to do this stuff?’ Well this week I’m going to try to change that to ‘who am I not to?’ And who are you not to be the best you can be?!

Is there a situation you are staying in simply for fear of being a cop out if you walk away? Or a mindset that no longer serves you? Have a think about it this week and on Monday it’s the full moon! A perfect time to do some manifestation work – work out what you really want and what you need to let go of in order to make that thing happen!

I’m sending so much love, light and fairy lights to all those who pass this way,

The week ahead – Where are you going?!

photo (51)

A little late with the week ahead – please forgive me! But like I said on #Caturday whenever you see this post is whenever you are meant to see it, divine timing and all that. Anyway, to celebrate that I got my new Doreen Virtue Guardian Angel Tarot deck, that I just gave away a bunch of free readings and that I’m going to be studying with Doreen in London this week I’m using the new deck! This deck is so sweet and cute and vintage and glittery and I’ll do a deck review on YouTube if people want that?! Just shout at me on Facebook about what you want to see on YouTube, and even on this blog!

This week I pulled the Six of Thought, which is based on the Six of Swords. It’s the boat card, the water taxi, the asylum seekers, the looking for greener pastures card. It can be a metaphorical boat or literally that you are travelling across the sea… but what does it mean for us right now this week? It’s not like we’re all going on a cruise.

OK, so when I pulled it I got a real sense of knowing where we are going, or rather, making sure we do know where we are going. We have the boat, we have the oars, but do we know where the hell we are heading? It’s time to get clear about the destination and this card and the Angels are telling us to really look at our maps this week. Are we heading in the right direction? Have we veered off course a little? Is our heart telling us to change direction but we’re still sailing towards something else?

This week ask yourself these two questions:

❤ where are you heading?

❤ where do you want to be heading?

If you get the same answers to both questions you’re on your way – keep on sailing sailor! But if you’re drifting towards someplace else  get out your oars and start rowing!

You have the boat and you have the power to steer it in anyway you choose, so where are you rowing your boat to?

Don’t know where the hell you are going? Well (prepare for shameless promotion!) I have posted a bunch of readings on my new Etsy store including the Life Purpose reading! Yay! It’s NewAgeHipsterStore and it just opened yesterday! OMG Amazement! If there’s nothing on there for you but you’d still like a reading just email me, I’m vix@newagehipster.co and we can discuss alternative options. And right now I’m offering 25% discount on any Angel readings with the code ANGELS so get angel-ing if you feel called to do so!

Sending love, light and good solid oars to all who pass this way,

Vix

The Week Ahead – Embrace your inner awesome chic (+homework)

photo (47)

Hello Happy Hipsters! Welcome to this week! Oh, here’s a thing – just because this post is was posted on a certain day about a certain week, that doesn’t mean that it can’t relate to you where you are right now – whether it’s next week, next month next year or years from now when you’re stumbling across this post. Yes, I am very hopefully this blog will last for years! If you feel like this message is for you – it is for you. And that’s not just about this post, or this blog, this is about anything you find anywhere anytime.

This week we have the beautiful Empress from the Cosmic Tarot. I love the Empress card already – she’s number 3 which is a number I totally resonate with (that’s why all the 3’s on my Facebook and Instagram and Twitter accounts!) and she’s just an awesome woman who’s totally embracing her chic power!

OK so this week’s message is actually an activity! OMG I love activities! I hope you do too… now you can use your journal and go crazy with this, or you can just think about your answers as you read, or both, or you can make a collage or do a painting or make a video or whatever the hell you feel like!

Think of an awesome chic – the first awesome chic you can think of; celeb or real, and dudes this will work for you too so keep going!

❤ List at least three things that make this chic awesome

❤ List at least three things you have in common with this awesome chic

❤ Now what’s one thing you can do right now to be more like this awesome chic? (I’m not suggesting here that you should not be yourself and start acting like Beyonce or whoever, but if there’s something about someone else that you wish you were a bit more like then it’s totally OK to find that thing within yourself right?!)

Here’s my answers…

❤ Think of an awesome chic – the first chic that comes to mind is Cyndi Lauper!

❤ What makes this chic awesome? She totally has her own style, she’s an advocate for LGBT rights, she’s absolutely gorgeous without fitting the normal standard of beauty.

❤ Three things we have in common – sometimes we have orange hair, we both love singing, and we have both been known to dance on trash cans.

❤ One thing I can do right now to be more like Cyndi Lauper – embrace my weirdness.

So this week I’m embracing my weirdness! I’d love to know what message you all got from your inner awesome chic! 🙂

Love, light and embracing your inner awesome!

The Week Ahead – Filling up!

10590413_693867610693967_3602375258438122113_n

OK first of all, let’s talk about my new deck! You know I’m obsessed with buying new decks right now and I need to find a way to control it, but this is a deck I’ve had a crush on for ages! The Art Nouveau Tarot by Matt Meyers from 1989. It’s so 80’s and I’m so in love with it! Maybe I should do a deck review?!

So what’s going on this week? Well this Queen of Cups is different than the usual Rider Waite Queen who stares at her cup almost obsessively. Here we see a much more open Queen who looks like she wants to give us some of her water. But she can’t give us anything if she doesn’t fill her cup first… and that’s the message for this week – we need to fill our cups!

So I’ve been cracking on with these free readings of which I still have nearly a hundred requests waiting for me in my inbox (thanks for your patience!) and although I am loving every minute of it I am totally stressed out that I’m taking too long and letting people down! But I’m getting the message now to slow down and look after myself first. So now I’m trying to do a quick reading for myself before I do readings for anyone else and put my study and practice first rather than as an after thought – you know, thinking I’ll do the stuff for others first then if I’ve got time I’ll do my own stuff.

I did a reading this week in which I saw this woman on a plane with children. I saw her having to put on her own oxygen mask before she assisted others. And that’s so what we are needing to think about this week! You can’t help others if you can’t breathe!

A lot of us right now have a deep desire to help as many people as we can – family, friends, clients, people who read our blogs, whoever we can! We feel like we are never doing enough for others, that we could be doing so much more, and even feeling guilty when we don’t feel like we’re fulfilling our purpose…

But how can we fulfill anything when we are empty?!

Let’s take a look at this Queen of Cups this week – she’s giving, she’s beautiful, she’s strong and powerful, but if her bowl was empty she wouldn’t be any of these things! (OK, maybe she’d sill be beautiful, she’s practically a Barbie!)

So what can we do this week to fill up?! Well you know I’m seriously into lists right now so here’s some ideas… 🙂

❤ Take a bath – Queen of Cups – water – get it?!

❤ Drink tea! Oh we are so on the Cups vibe here…

❤ Take long showers

❤ Buy a new nail polish! Barry M is 3 free and 3 for 2 at Boots right now! Or paint your nails with the polish you already have!

❤ Watch your favourite TV show or a movie and don’t feel guilty for doing it! Imagine sitting on your couch and the Universe is pouring love and light into your head while you zone out!

❤ Get a massage or get someone to give you one, or let the cat walk on your back. Haha!

❤ Get your hair done, or do it yourself!

❤ Make time to read a few chapters from that book on your bedside table

❤ Sit in the sun! (If you have any!)

❤ Have a beer or a wine and don’t feel guilty! I know loads of us these days are all about the clean living, but come on, even Jesus had a tipple!

❤ Spend some time doing some tarot/angel readings for yourself! If you don’t have the cards look for some blogs (like mine! Lol!) or other websites where you can get your fill! I really think that even if you look at old readings online that you can find exactly what you are supposed to in that moment. You might find some old posts on here that make sense to you in the moment!

❤ Take a selfie and revel in the ‘WOW you so PRETTY/SEXY’ comments

❤ Write a list of all your good features

❤ Write a letter to your 12 year old self telling her or him how amazing their life is going to be

❤ Book a holiday or a pretend Pinterest holiday

❤ Make a vision board or do some scrapbooking

❤ Clean out your closet and give old stuff to charity

❤ Make or order your favourite dinner and eat seconds

Dance around your bedroom!

❤ Do whatever you need to do to ‘fill up’!

And once we find the balance between filling up and pouring out we’ll be like those guys who play the bagpipes doing circular breathing; they don’t stop to think about if they are breathing in or out, it just happens.

Love, light and glasses full,

Vix

The Week Ahead – There’s no place like home

photo (46)

How did we all go with our spending last week?! Anyone weigh up any good purchases? I actually spent a lot more than I had planned, but it was all because I went on an impromptu trip to the seaside! A gorgeous little B&B, some nice food out and about, a few beers and a hand full of crystals – hello hand-sized rose quartz! – but it was money well spent. A weekend I’ll always remember and some trinkets that will last longer than a new pair of shoes. 🙂

Anyway, that’s all about last week and I hope your week was totally wonderful but right now we’re looking ahead to this coming week! I pulled a card today from Doreen Virtue’s Mary, Queen of Angels deck, which is a super cute and peaceful deck and reminds me of how I’ve been thinking about doing deck reviews – do people want to read deck reviews? And the card I pulled, after asking Mary for a message for anyone who sees this, is ‘Home‘. Ah! A week to think about home… you can clean it, you can invite people over to it, you can buy some flowers or a new picture to put in it (if it’s inline with your higher self spender! Haha!) or you can even start looking for a new one if you think you’re in the wrong one. Whatever it is this week we need to give a little love to our homes. They protect us, they keep us warm, they are a necessity like food and water and all we do is complain about how we don’t like the carpets! (Guilty!)

When I was at the lovely Louise Androlia‘s workshop last weekend (I’m still half way through writing a blog post about it!) we talked about space clearing and this might be a good week to do some space clearing! Space clearing (if you’re new to the idea) is how we move negative or stale old energies out of our house and replace them with new sparkling shiny ones! It’s like metaphysical dusting!

Here’s my top five ways to space clear!

❤ Loud pop music (anything 80’s) and dancing around! Best way to get some joy into a space!

❤ Lighting a candle or a bunch of candles and letting the light shine!

❤ Fresh flowers or a new pot plant depending on your budget!

❤ Sage or incense. I’m not a huge fan of the smell of sage, it’s OK, but I only use it for like serious space cleansing cases (you know like ghosts or whatever). I like to open all the doors and windows and then walk around wafting a stick of lavender incense everywhere – make sure you get it into the corners!

❤ Vacuuming! Real life vacuuming and also asking Archangel Micheal to vacuum the negative energy at the same time! Oh yeah I totes vacuum with Archangel Micheal and that so needs to be a sticker or a badge – I vacuum with Archangel Micheal! (That is so copy write!)

Mostly though, you have to do what feels right to you! I’d love to hear how you cleanse your space!

Let’s do something nice for our homes this week, even if it’s just to feel gratitude for the place we live. Remember guys – there’s no place like home, there really, really isn’t! 🙂

If you are waiting for a free reading I thank you for being patient! I have like 70 requests in my inbox right now and doing about 5 a day! Stick with me I hope it’ll be worth it!

Love, light and metaphysical dusting!

The Week Ahead – Old robes vs Kardashian wardrobes

photo 1 (7)

Another weekly reading brought to you by the suit of coins. Sorry! Last week we had the lovely tea and chat with the angels, but guess what? It’s back to being kicked in the butt – no cookies on the table today!

So the question this week is – are we spending money in alignment with our higher selves? I bought some clothes on ASOS the other day, maybe I didn’t really need them. Maybe I should be living a holy life in scratchy robes and old sandals. Argh! But we can’t live in robes and sandals on this planet right now, not unless we go off the grid at least. In my life right now I live in a city and I work in a public place and there’s a dress code. I’m not even allowed to wear sandals.

So where do we draw the line between dressing like a monk and spending like a Kardashian? How do we know how much is OK and how much is too much? Obviously our bank accounts can give us some advice about that, but using how much is in your bank account to gauge how much you can spend leads you to doing what I did last month – nearly hitting zero!

So the real question here is how do we get into alignment with ‘good’ spending?! Right, let’s pull another card…

photo 2 (8)

Looks like we need to put our purchases on the metaphorical scale of spending Justice!

Imagine on one side of the scale sits your glowing gorgeous higher self (a mini version, obviously your higher self is bigger than can fit on a scale!) and on the other put your purchases. Do they balance out? Is your ASOS shopping spree too heavy?! Is your once a month 50p charity shop buy a little too light?!

We can also think of our higher self as a ‘person’ and ask them what they think of our purchases too – hold up that shirt to your higher self in the changing room and see if she/he nods or shakes her/his head. Before clicking on ‘purchase’ look over at your higher self standing over by the pot plant, are they giving you that look? Or are they nodding with approval – after all your higher self wants you to feel good right?! It’s OK to buy stuff that will make you feel good, but spending money on crap you don’t even like doesn’t make you feel good!

Put your purchases on the scale and see how they line up this week! I’d love to know if this resonates and works for you guys and I’ll be reporting back on my progress at this at the end of the week! 🙂

In other weekly news – I still have loads of free 3 card readings to give away so hook it up if you haven’t already! I’ve finally put up a page of Praise featuring some of the amazing and wonderful feedback I’ve had so far and I’ve started putting up some links to some of the amazing people out in the world who have helped me so much on my journey so far, check them out! One of whom is the lovely Louise Androlia who I met yesterday at her wonderful double energy + surrender workshop which I’ll be blogging about in the next few days. 🙂

Love, light and weighing in the spending!

The Week Ahead – Steady Progress

photo (43)

I’ve been ill. My brain is kind of like cotton wool and the thought of pulling a Tarot card today and then interpreting it into something really useful to put on my blog was like -OMG how can I?! So instead I went back to basics. I pulled a card from my Doreen Virtue Daily Guidance From Your Angels deck. I love Angel Oracle cards because they are are just really loving and gentle. There’s no Death card or Tower card to deal with, and some days (like today for me!) you just need a cup of tea and a hug instead of a kick in the pants to get going on your goals. I highly recommend Angel cards for this reason, they have that energy that feels like angels putting their wings around you, even if it’s still not always want you want to hear, whereas Tarot can sometimes be more of a shove in the right direction.

So today’s cup of tea and hug tells us we are making steady progress!

“We acknowledge you for the progress you’ve made in remembering love in your daily activities. We can clearly see the contribution you’re making to the world through your thoughts, feelings, and actions of love.”

I don’t know about you, but I constantly have the feeling that I can be doing more, that I should be doing more. If I’m not at work I should be working on my blog, practicing and reading about Tarot and other spiritual stuff, you know, working on becoming enlightened and stuff. Oh yeah and then there’s working on my YA novel, reading for fun, spending time with friends and loved ones, and what about the new episodes of True Blood?! Don’t even look at my carpets seriously, I haven’t vacuumed in ages. There just never seems to be enough hours in the day! And I wonder why I get a cold with this kind of thinking!?

This week we are being told – it’s OK, you are doing fine, even if it doesn’t always feel like it, you are making progress towards your goals, and if you are spreading the love and light a little every day then you are doing well! *Pat on back*.

So don’t beat yourself up if you didn’t get that blog post done, or whatever it was you wanted to have achieved by today. The Angels don’t judge us on how much we do. They don’t judge us on how far we get in our careers or how much money we make. They don’t care if we write one blog post or one hundred. They only care that whatever we do we do it with love.

So have a great week new-agers, spread the love and know that’s enough this week!

Coming up this week I hope to have a blog post up about buying your first tarot deck as well as some more pop culture tarot so stay tuned! I’m also going to finally get around to the free readings requests in my inbox and looking forward to getting some more requests too! 🙂

Love, light and Angel hugs,

x

The week ahead – We are the world

photo (37)

I don’t know about you, but I’ve been feeling a deep sadness about the world this last week. The plane crash in the Ukraine, the events taking place in Israel, children dying of cancer… the world is a dark place at times and it’s feeling very heavy right now.

I had a little trouble pulling a card this week. I pulled The World card for us this week from my new Housewives Tarot deck, then put it back, pulled a couple that didn’t feel right and then pulled The World again. Perhaps at first glance I didn’t want to have to write about something so full on so I tried to avoid it. But that’s the thing about tarot, and life too, you can’t just avoid the things you don’t want to deal with.

This week I feel we are being guided to think about ‘The World’. The imagery here shows a very closed minded view of the world, a bubble, the parts of the world that affect us directly in our everyday lives. What are we having for dinner? What’s the earliest we can leave work so we don’t get stuck in traffic? How many days until the weekend? We often get so caught up in ourselves and our world bubble around us that we don’t always think about the fact that our home isn’t just our flat, or our house with the white picket fence. The whole planet is our home.

OK I’m getting way too emo, but I really think this week is a good time to meditate (whatever that means to you!) on the world, and that we are, quite literally it. We can sit around and moan about the state of things, but we are the state of things. We are the world.

I don’t want anyone to fall into a pit of despair, after all there is so much beauty here on Earth and so many amazing people who want to share love, joy and happiness and so much to live for, but sometimes I think we need to step out of our bubble and put it all into perspective. But instead of getting frustrated or just ignoring the problems on the planet we need to really think about what we can do to help make the world a better place.

In our everyday lives we need to interact positively, we need to be the light and spread the love and joy to others. But when looking at the big picture it might be a good week to donate whatever you can afford to a charity, watch a documentary and educate ourselves, send some positive vibes to the parts of the world that need it most, or even just have a good cry and release some of this pent up frustration that so many of us have been feeling lately.

I like to think that my blog is a really happy positive lighthearted kind of place, so I’m sorry to go on a downer today.

But that’s the world.

Love, light and healing tears,

x

The week ahead – get on the horse!

photo (31)

Usually when I do the week ahead reading I make a big thing out of getting in the zone and pulling a card for us all yada yada yada… Today I was playing around with a new spread which is from the Dusty White book I’m always going on about – The Easiest Way to Learn the Tarot Ever. It’s called the Roundabout spread and the reading I gave myself was ultra amazing! I usually suck at giving myself readings, you know how you always see what you want to see, or try to make the cards relate to a specific outcome you want, but this one was so bang on and so hard hitting that I knew it was totally what I needed to hear right now, even though some of it was a kick up in the pants!

I’ll spare you the gory details of my entire reading, but one card in particular didn’t just speak to me, it screamed in my face, and I thought it was worth sharing this week for the week ahead!

The Seven of Wands; it’s not really that much of an exciting card really. Usually when I see this card I relate better to the people walking than the guy on the horse. I always perceive the guy on the horse as a ‘boss’ type, you know, that guy who gets all the glory when really, it was the people on the ground who did all the work. I’ve always seen him as kind of a boastful jerk and definitely not a character I relate to at all.

As part incarnated angel I don’t think I’ve ever really been on the horse. I follow behind, working quietly in the wings, not talking about my grand plans or ambitions. That’s not to say I don’t have them, I just don’t dance around telling everyone who’ll listen. I stay relatively humble and just get on with things while my superiors constantly reap the rewards and I go home and drink half a bottle of wine while I watch True Blood and whinge about it.

Well guys, that’s all about to change! I pulled this card reversed in the ‘what I need to address’ position and I wrote in my journal in caps – GET ON THE F***ING HORSE FOR ONCE!

This message was so intense I felt like it was for all of us. Let yourself get on the horse for once. Stop being a follower and start putting yourself out there!

Oh and PS – don’t forget to check out my free readings page!

Love light and horse riding lessons,

The week ahead – hot dates and kindred spirits!

photo (27)

Last week I pulled the Baba card from the Morgan’s Tarot and felt like it was a message for us all to get back in with whatever we call ‘God’ and then go bake a cake. Well I did spend a little extra time talking to God and I ate a chocolate cupcake on Friday so I guess that was a successful week!

Today I decided to use Doreen Virtue’s Archangel Power Tarot cards and pulled the Two of Raphael which is based on the two of cups from the traditional tarot. Sorry about the colour of this photo too, I’m in the UK and it’s Summer so obviously it’s overcast and I’m sitting in the dark. Wah!

So what’s happening this week? Are we all going on hot dates?! Are we all going to find that we are surrounded by kindred spirits?! I really hope so!

But mostly, I feel like this card is saying to us that after the last week really trying to get in with God, this week, it’s all about getting in with the people around you, but especially those who feel like your soul mates, kindred spirits, the people who just ‘get you’, whatever you want to call them. And if you don’t have any of those people in your life, this week would be a good time to start looking! I’ve found so many awesome and interesting people on Instagram lately, it’s easy to find people who are like-minded and then follow them, comment on their stuff and get a conversation going!

Also, if someone you love pisses you off this week, don’t take it too personally. Remember we are all human and we all piss each other off all the time. That’s not an excuse to go around being shitty to people of course, but it is a little reminder for us to give each other a break sometimes, especially when it’s really not that big of a deal.

Love, light and kindred spirits,

x
