Non-Negotiables

Scrolling through my Facebook feeds these last few days I keep coming across Louise Androlia’s 10 Non-Negotiables. She asked on FB what our non-negotiables are and I realised I didn’t really have any… Yikes! So I made some and I hope these inspire you to make your own! 🙂

❤ Wear whatever I want to wear.

I don’t buy into fashion and fads unless I love it – hello neon yellow. Clothing and style is self-expression and although we have to dress ‘appropriately’ at times, we can still do that in the confines of dressing creatively. You can wear hot pink to the office, and sequin plimsolls are always cool even though they kind of blind people in the street. Oh yeah, but this also comes with not judging others for what they wear too!

❤ Be alone

As some kind of introvert I need alone time. I’m not talking about like hours spent in a cave, but more like taking a long shower, or enjoying the alone-ness on the drive to work. Even shopping alone counts as alone time right?

❤ Spend money on that which I value

I’m working on this! It’s super important to me and I’m doing OK. I’m trying really hard to make sure I question my purchases and weigh up the value before hitting buy, but I still have lapses… I probably have lapses on everything on this list, but that’s OK because I’m human…

❤ Remember – It’s OK because you are human…

This one is about not beating myself up for doing ‘human things’ like spending too much at Topshop or rolling my eyes at fellow motorists.

❤ …But always try to be better

Learn from my mistakes and every day try to be a better person than I was yesterday, like consciously try not to roll my eyes at motorists or spend too much at Topshop.

❤ Be kind

Always be kind, especially to the people who make your coffee. And be kind to animals, even if you don’t like spiders try not to kill them.

❤ Live with a grateful heart

I try to make gratitude lists but I’m not that good at keeping the routine. So instead I try to live with a grateful heart in every moment in every day. OK so sometimes that’s hard, especially when someone is on your back or pissing you off… but there is always something to be grateful for, even if it’s just tea, or trees or being alive. When drinking a cup of tea I often mentally think – ‘I love tea!’ and doing that all day about everything is a pretty nice way to go about your day.

❤ Feel joy!

As a 3 life path my life purpose is to be in joy and spread joy so having fun, being silly and enjoying life is totally non-negotiable!

❤ Not apologising for who I am

I’m not sorry I’m a nerd, geek, weirdo, dress like a teenager, tarot reader, angel communicator, wannabe YA fiction author, 80’s enthusiast, karaoke queen, pole dancer, not a natural redhead, tree hugger, Unicorn lover, Jesus crusher (I mean I have a Jesus crush right, not that I actually would crush him), star person, possible Atlantean, incarnated angel and part elemental, not really cool enough to be an actual hipster even though I call this page new age hipster, and I like Taylor Swift. #sorrynotsorry!

❤ Connecting with the ‘divine’

Every day I do something to connect with God/Universe/Whatever you want to call it. Whether it’s Tarot, pulling an Angel card, having a chat with whoever’s around me from the light while I’m getting ready for my day, oh – and always asking for protection and getting in my golden bubble!

OK, now it’s your turn! What things are non-negotiable for you?!

Love, light and non-negotiable lists!

Lessons from the Louniversity

IMG_4068

When I signed up for Louise Androlia‘s Energy Awareness + Surrender Session double whammy I wasn’t totally sure what to expect, but I’ve been following her blog for a while and reading my Tarotscopes every month so I knew that whatever lessons I was going to learn would be totally on my frequency.

Louise is an energy guru and I was so excited to hear her take on how to work with energy. As an empath – you know, those of us who pick up all the energy crap floating around in the air, I have struggled with being able to block negative energy for years. I’m that kind of person that feels what other people feel… If I’m next to someone on the train who is grumpy, I get grumpy! Don’t even get me started on how it affects me when someone barges past me in the street – it makes me so damn ANGRY! And I’ve only recently realised that it’s not because it really makes me angry, it’s because the person who barges you in the street is generally a very angry person, someone who is angry at life and everything that happens to them… OK, some people do it accidentally but usually they give you a look or say sorry and that’s totally a different thing…

When you live your life this way things can get heavy. Constantly picking up on other people’s energy is sooooo draining and when we feel drained we don’t spend time with friends, we don’t crack on with creative projects and we end up living our lives from home to work to home to TV to dinner to bed to work again…

So what do we do about it?! You can do all the visualisations you’ve read about – the bubble, the mirrors, the cloak. You can buy a bunch of protective crystals – I’ve been wearing a smoky quartz and that seems to help! You can focus your intention – if you begin to be aware of picking up on energy you’re already going to pick up less! But if you are just starting out with this stuff, or if you need a boost to what you are already doing Louise’s energy workshops sure will help!

Being surrounded by a bunch of self aware women looking to add something to their personal and spiritual development all afternoon was in itself inspiring and empowering.  Louise lead us through a bunch of energy awareness exercises and continuously dropped so many enlightening phrases and ideas at us so fast I couldn’t keep up with my notes! Not only did she share her thoughts and visualisations but there was a real sense during the afternoon that we were all there together, learning from each other as much as we were learning from her. We shared our own ideas, concerns and worries about shielding ourselves and it was the perfect supportive forum to be able to ask anything!

I’m always usually the person up the back of these workshops just chilling, taking notes and keeping to myself, but when Louise asked if anyone wanted to share something they wanted to surrender I felt my hand go up before my brain even thought it was a good idea. I wasn’t worried about what anyone was going to think of me and my thing I wanted to surrender because I knew in that moment in that room I was surrounded only by people who were there to support, uplift and encourage each other on our journeys.

Now not everyone can pop into East London for a weekend workshop, but Louise has a fantastic blog on which she shares so many energetic insights and you can find it here.

And I thought I’d finish up this post by sharing a couple of gems I can almost make out in my notes…

❤ your intention (to protect, clear, ground, whatever!) is powerful!

❤ eat more vegetables to feel grounded – sorry guys, sugar is not grounding! 😦

always be in your bubble!

❤ when you are feeling anxious it’s because you are not in the present moment – you are too much in the future or the past.

❤ rejection is redirection!

❤ and if someone has something you want (success for example!), that doesn’t mean there isn’t enough for you too! If they have it, you can have it!

Love, light and lessons from the Louniversity,

Jophiel Jeans and Jesus Sandals (AKA Shopping with the angels!)

photo (45)

This post is for anyone who’s ever had a case of buyer’s remorse. Hands up who’s ever come home from a day out shopping with a bunch of crap? Ever thought – OMG why did I buy that? Or maybe you wear it once and then it goes at the back of the cupboard until you do one of those yearly clean outs. You know – if you haven’t worn it in a year donate it. But you have such good intentions; you always think about spending sensibly, you make yourself a budget for your shopping trips, you write a list of what you actually need, you do all that stuff the financial self help books tell you to do but you still find yourself getting carried away when you see a sale and buy sexy dresses in every colour that look amazing in the change room, but in real life make you look like a sad stripper.

Well guess what girls and guys, you can change all that! All you need to do is ask Archangel Jophiel to come shopping with you!

“Who is this Jophiel?” you might ask, well she’s the angel of beauty! OK, mostly she’s known for helping you to beautify your thoughts and your inner beauty, but like most modern gals (and guys!) I like to feel like I’m beautiful on the outside too, and God knows how hard that is some days!

So what do you actually have to do if you’d like her presence with you? You just ask her! That’s why I love working with the angels, all you have to do is talk to them! I usually say something like this:

“Archangel Jophiel, please come shopping with me today. Help me to find clothes I feel good in for a good price (you can list here what you are looking for and how much you want to spend). Help me to be discerning and don’t let me buy anything I’m not going to value or enjoy. Help the money I spend to support those who need it. “*

Archangel Jophiel please help me find a pair of acid wash jeans and a new Doreen Virtue deck! ❤ x

You can ask Jophiel for help with loads of other things too! She’s great at helping you to stop thinking so negatively and see your own inner and outer beauty – I think we all need some help with that now and again!

There’s no harm in asking for help with your eyeliner either and before everyone starts to think this is all very superficial and not very spiritual at all, just look around at the society we live in, it’s nuts! If having neat eyeliner helps you feel good about yourself when you step outside then why the hell shouldn’t you ask for divine help with it?!

Now if calling in an angelic being to help you find the perfect jeans and lipstick makes you feel a bit weird I totally get that. What you can do is just create an intention before you go out shopping. Instead of calling in the angels, call in your higher self or whoever takes your fancy. Hey, if you’re shopping for sandals you could even ask Jesus to come with you! Did I really just go there?! Yes I did! I work with Jesus pretty often, I think he’d get a kick out of helping you buy sandals as long as you had a glass of red wine afterwards. Wow, I really went there too. But you get the point, set the intention however you wish. Make clear it clear to the universe – what do you want from your shopping trip? How much do you want to spend? And don’t settle for buying anything that doesn’t make you feel amazing.

Love, light, Jophiel Jeans and Jesus Sandals,

*I hate the whole sweat shop thing and all the negative vibes that come with it. I wish we could boycott it and only buy from  handmade and vintage stores… but I also feel that boycotting doesn’t necessarily help with things like this. After all there are lots of workers all over the world who need jobs and money to support their families and shutting down clothing factories isn’t going to help those who make your clothes. I do of course 100% support better conditions and fairer pay, and when I get dressed in the morning I do try to remember to send a little love and gratitude the way off the people who made what I’m wearing. ❤ x
